Hi!
This week has been good. We were snowed in a few days and I moved 3 times! But now I'm finally back to somewhat normal just in time for transfers next week! Crazy is life no matter where you are. :)
Since not a lot happened this week I don't have a lot to say. We are trying to schedule a time for a possible new investigator to feed us dinner. He is from the thrift store that we volunteer at and he is possibly the nicest guy I've ever met. I hope that goes well even if I am not here for it. We've not had any follow-up about the family coming to church that was a previous investigator but we will find out sometime this week.
As a side note, when I got into the mission my biggest thing was trying to stay as obedient as I could. It's still my biggest thing and something that I work on every day. But I found out probably 2 days ago that the Colorado, Colorado Springs mission had a pretty big reputation in the mission world for being one of the craziest missions (disobedient) out there. Kinda makes me think. :) I'm glad that if I only learn one thing while I'm out here, that is that your choices are not dependent on what everyone else is doing, even if that person is supposed to be the role model and leader.
I love being out here. It is harder than I thought it would be but I want to bear my testimony that I know that I was called to this mission by God. I know that there is a reason for me to be out here. I don't know what that reason might be quite yet and I might not figure it out until I get back but I trust that there is a plan and that I am loved as a son of God. I want all of you and everyone to know that.
LOVE all of you guys and miss you,
Elder Garrett Darren Smith
