Hi Fam,
What a week! I hope that everything is going well for all of you guys! It's so cool to see and hear about what everyone has been up to. Sometimes it's difficult for me to find out what to write in these emails because I'm just doing the same thing every day and every once in a while something big happens. It makes me feel like I'm boring :/\)
Well here goes nothing. Last weeks formula for writing made it easy for me so I'll try it again. Just skip the days that you don't like and read the finisher if that is easier :P.
Monday: Soccer in the gym for P-Day and I scored 3 goals. LOOK AT ME NOW. Lessons and dinner that night with active families. We started to share a specific Mother's Day message with people in anticipation of the upcoming holiday of the same name.
Tuesday: Task Force Volunteering - Just a normal day at the intake, BUT while I was there a George Forman grill came in and I wanted to buy it and the manager said that I could have it for free as a gift. Best. Thing. Ever. Which means that now I'm going to have waffles every Sunday because it has a waffle iron attachment. Score
Wednesday: Weekly Planning in the new style that we were taught which took a good 4 hours. At noon the Task Force was having a Volunteer Appreciation luncheon so we went. It was awesome, Elder Madsen won a gift card to Starbucks. We also were able to see a lot of people at the luncheon that we work with at the task force. Then Van gave us some Elk Sausage. I have not had any of it yet so I don't know if it is good or not but it's the thought that counts. Active member lessons that night and dinner.
Thursday: I don't remember what happened on Thursday. I just remember that we were busy. Since I can't remember the specific day, I'll say today was the day that we were able to get into contact with 2 of the refferals that we receive from the Ford Family and have a tentative time to come back and teach one of them on this Satuday. Hoping for the best! I just remembered that we also had a lesson with one of our investigators today at his motel room. Nothing spectacular happened with him because we are still waiting for him to get word back from his Probation Officer on if he can come to church. Dinner wasn't scheduled but a family in the ward asked us to help them with some gardening and offered us dinner in exchange so that worked out well.
Friday: Normal day, then we had service at the bike place that we work at on Sat. because they were having a big give away at an Elementary school and need to get 240 bikes over there. So we helped load bikes.
Satuday: Kind of a nutty day. We had a breadfast at the Stake President's house and a meeting with him (All of the missionaries were there) and then Immediately after we went to the thing at the Elementary School to help out with the give away. A cool change for us was that everyone there started to call us Elder and most of them know who we are. Makin good impressions err'where. But after that we went around and visited some people, then Dinner.
Sunday: Fast Sunday. Church. Sacrament. Dinner. Lessons. I love Sunday because we always have something to do. This is the day that we were at the Ford's and they tricked me into making a video. Love you Mom!!
Which reminds me... We still don't know where exactly that we are going to make calls/skype/factime but it will probably have to be later because that's the only time that we have time. So probably like 6 or 7 that night :/. I'll give you a call probably a day or 2 before to iron out the details. Looking forward to it!
Scripture of the week:
12 I say unto you, I would that ye should remember to retain the name written always in your hearts, that ye are not found on the left hand of God, but that ye hear and know the voice by which ye shall be called, and also, the name by which he shall call you.
13 For how knoweth a man the master whom he has not served, and who is a stranger unto him, and is far from the thoughts and intents of his heart?
I really like this because it reminds me that even though I have a name tag that literally has the name of Christ on me at all times, I still need to make sure that I KNOW what that name means and what Jesus Christ would want me to do. I like the reminder of where I should be pointed and where I should set my heart
Goof Scripture (Story) of The Week: Paul Bores someone to death (Literally), But then brings him back to life
7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
8 And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.
9 And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.
10 And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracinghim said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.
11 When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.
12 And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.
