Hey Everybody!
And there goes the fist week of my second transfer. After the next 5 weeks I'll no longer be missionary in training! Really cool stuff!
This week has been a really cool week. Our lesson with the member are going really well and hopefully within the next few days/weeks we can start seeing the fruits of the seeds that we are trying to plant in the families. But besides that we have made some really cool progress with some of the current investigators that we are teaching.
Every Friday, we have been helping a lady to help clean her house as she is getting ready to move somewhere else in town. Last time we were there she ask us if we could give her a blessing of comfort, it was a really spiritual experience and she noticed it and we talked about it for a while. But, the coolest thing happened the last Friday, she had just gotten back from a surgery a couple of days before and we explained that the Priesthood authority is the same authority that Jesus had when he was here and that part of that authority was that we could also give blessings of healing. She said that if we could do that she would want to. So I gave the blessing and it was one of the coolest experiences that I've had so far. She took us and the Sister Missionaries to lunch and while we were there, she said that she wants to find out if this church is true and will continue to ask in her prayers and read the Book of Mormon. Service is a powerful tool. It was so cool to spend a lunch with Bro Eldredge. I hope I didn't say anything to weird. What does that mean that I wasn't the Garrett that he knew... worrying a little bit.
Thank you for the scripture and prayers. I love you guys and hope you keep having a great Christmas season. Remember the most important thing about Christmas is the first six letters.
Lot o' Love,
Elder Garrett Darren Smith
