Why Hello you lovely people!
This week has been awesome!
Boring parts first. Snow hasn't been bad so far, weather is actually being kinda strange. One day it's below 30 and later that same day it gets hot enough that I couldn't keep the jacket on. Sometimes it feels like Houston in winter. Sometimes it feels like Utah in winter. But its good being out here. Not much else about me that needs to be said so back to the important stuff.
This last week was actually pretty fruitful, but most of the cool stuff only happened in the last 3 days. The beginning of the week Elder Guerrette was sick so we weren't able to go out for 2 days. :/ But after that we were back in action. On Friday we had a kid come with us to a lesson. It was kinda hectic because the lesson got cancelled so we had to find somewhere to go with him, but we did after a frantic 15 minutes of making calls. It was really awesome to have him come just to see the change in him. When I got here a couple months ago he didn't want anything to do with the church, and now he is working on his papers and is letting people know that he is planning on going. It probably the coolest thing in the world to watch people make changes in their lives for the better. You can just see the the light in there eyes get brighter as you see their transformation.
Cool progress with some of the part member families and less actives that we are working with. 2 of the part member families that we are trying to work with, the mothers went to a Relief Society retreat over the week end, one of them is the member and the other one isn't. The one who is a member was talking about how she wants to start bringing here husband to church and told the people there that she would. We need to make sure that she follows up on that promise but this is a HUGE step for her. She wouldn't even let us share a spiritual thought for dinner and now she wants to bring her husband to church with her. We are working with an active family in the ward to get to know the husband and hopefully it keeps progressing. The other lady is someone that the missionaries have been working with for over a year I think, and apparently at the retreat she bore a testimony of some sort. This one kinda threw us for a loop. She comes to church every week but has refused to get baptized even though she is techinically a more active member of the ward than some of the "active" families. We are going to jump on this but we won't be able to talk to her until next week because they are out of time. I love seeing the growth that people are having.
I love this gospel. I love the fact that no matter what the difficulties or challenges that a person faces, the gospel can help if they want it to. Don't get me wrong, it's probably the hardest thing to do, but when someone takes the effort to change themselves to become better people that is the best feeling in the world to see the change in them. Thank you so much for all the support. I love all of you guys!!! remember that if you are not changing for the better then you are falling behind
LOVE,
